Unidirectional Carbon Fiber Fabric is a non-woven form of carbon fiber reinforcement material, characterized by all fibers extending in a single parallel direction. Using this style of fabric, there are no gaps between the fibers and the fibers are laid flat. There is no cross section weaving that divides the fiber strength in two halves in the other direction. This allows for a fiber concentration density that provides maximum longitudinal tensile potential, and is higher than any other fabric. UD Carbon Fiber Fabric is three times the longitudinal tensile strength of structural steel and one-fifth the weight density.
