In the beginning of the 14th Five Year Plan in 2021, Jilin Chemical Fiber Group planned to launch the construction of a 400000 ton carbon fiber full industry chain project from raw silk, carbon fiber to composite materials, including 12 projects with a planned total investment of 18.5 billion yuan. It is expected that all projects will be completed and put into operation by 2026.
This project is the first to apply dry jet wet spinning technology to large-scale industrial production. After the completion of all projects, Jilin Chemical Fiber will become the only enterprise in the world that independently develops and owns independent intellectual property rights for both dry and wet spinning routes. The annual production of 60000 tons of carbon fiber project started in July 2022, mainly producing large tow carbon fibers above 35K. The entire carbonization line of this project has achieved localization of equipment and maximization of single line production capacity. The products are mainly used in new energy fields such as green electricity, optoelectronics, and hydrogen energy.
